SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER
PITTSBURGH-INDIANAPOLIS-HOUSTON-BIRMINGHAM
Will be responsible for providing supply chain, quality, and technical support to several manufacturing locations in USA on an as needed basis.
DUTIES:
Will be the focal point for supplier selection and development, strategic product launches, and ensuring that customer PPAP expectations are met at all plants.
Will coordinate vendor pricing & negotiations, quality systems; and will assist in developing and deploying advanced quality tools and systems.
Will develop the supply base and driving plant quality improvement efforts.
Establish a best practice procurement system focused on identifying capable suppliers offering competitive pricing and best service.
Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and conditions from the supply base and identify cost and acquisition improvement opportunities.
Coordinate with Sales and Plant personnel to identify high value or strategic product launch opportunities appropriate for corporate support.
Provide hands on technical support to plant personnel in PPAP compilation and submission in accordance with specific customer requirements.
Assist Management in identifying appropriate plant quality improvement opportunities.
Provide support to manufacturing plants in addressing customer quality issues
MUSTS:
Must have Bachelors Degree in a related business or technical field.
5 or more years experience working in supply chain, supplier quality, procurement and/or inventory discipline.
Experience in managing supply chain/procurement/purchasing areas.
Must have strong vendor negotiations, vendor quality skills.
Experience working with OEM customers-automotive, aerospace, industrial, oil & gas, etc.
Experience with metalworking components, machining, fabrication and welding systems desired.
Experience developing and executing corrective action plans.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
