Position Summary
The Training Manager position will be responsible for incorporating key principles of adult learning to effectively identify, design and implement practical and impactful learning initiatives, programs, and materials that can be used within the business groups and/or across the enterprise. The role will work closely with Talent Managers and leaders from different business groups to define the immediate and long term learning needs. This position will also lead, coach and develop a team of Employee Development Specialists.
Major Areas of Accountability
Manage the needs assessment, priority management and resource planning process of incoming training requests together with the Director of Talent Management.
Ensure quality of training solutions through effective needs assessments, learning reinforcement strategies, evaluation methods and cost and process efficiencies.
Create and manage work plans for updating training content and deploying training materials into the organization, partnering closely with Talent Managers and applicable business leaders.
Manage execution of deployment of the train-the-trainer programs and training delivery plans. Facilitate train-the-trainer activities with businesses and project teams regarding how to use the training tools.
Design curriculum plans and delivery methods.
Oversee the education and training templates, tools, delivery vehicles (Instructor Led, LMS, e-learning), training communication, to drive a consistent, high performing department.
Track, measure and communicate training metrics; support deployment communication activities; facilitate learning programs as needed.
Manage and lead a team of Employee Development Specialists including; recruitment, work direction, performance management and administration activities.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
o Bachelor's Degree in Education/Adult Learning, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience
o 7 or more years of experience managing best practice training development, train-the-trainer, and training deployment programs.
o 7 or more years of experience in content development, delivery, user assessment and training maintenance.
o Adult instructional design/learning experience.
o 5 or more years of supervisory/management experience.
o Advanced communication skills, both verbal and writing
o Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with all levels of TCF personnel
o Strong analytical skills; strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o Familiarity with LMS and Taleo systems.
o Experience with presenting and influencing stakeholders to support training ideas.
o Experience with implementation of new performance support.
o Technical awareness to troubleshoot and/or communicate training tool issues to IT/vendor.
o Experience managing/working with vendors to develop/deliver training content.
o Ability to create/manage robust work plans to ensure timely delivery.
o Ability to develop training management reports to reflect development and deployment strategy.
o Experience leading cross-functional projects in a matrix environment; delivery of projects with significant results.
