Overview
Our client, located in Schaumburg, IL is looking for an Application Support Specialist who will be in charge of analyzing, supporting, and administering assigned software applications. This is not a help desk position, instead you will serve as a liaison between functional areas and the vendors who provide the software. You will be ensuring that the assigned software applications meet the end user's needs, and will also have the opportunity to work with vendors to coordinate application improvements and updates. Furthermore, you will take part in the development of standard operation procedures, and help to ensure that software is in compliance with organization-wide standards/requirements and is being used correctly. Although you will not participate in after hours support, you will review the call activity and performance of the vendor handling those responsibilities.
Responsibilities
oPartake in the requirements gathering analysis/design for software updates and improvements
oPerform quality assurance tests for software changes
oEnsure products work as expected on all devices, including mobile devices (tablets and phones)
oOffer training to staff when needed
oOversee support call activity and initiate corrective actions when needed
oOrganize application support activities for a variety of applications
oImplement both user and system administration for several 3rd party application service providers
oAssess 3rd party software applications and gather requirements
oOffer end-user technical support as needed
Requirements
oExperience working with outside vendors on their products/applications
oMobile application support, tablets and phones
oSoftware testing
oUnderstanding of SDLC
oUsability and/or user interface design experience
oEnd-user support experience
Nice to have skills
oUsability and/or user interface design experience
o3rd Party applications such as: Meridian, PIMS, Mantis, Merak, CFAT, BigWebDesk, Wordpress
oOnline Scheduling applications
oRemote support services
oSocial Media Management Systems
Local candidates are preferred for this role because this company does not offer a relocation package, nor do they reimburse for travel expenses to the interview. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
