Position Description
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, detail oriented, experienced self-starter who will supervise a crew of mechanic technicians to ensure manufacturing lines are operating effectively. This position is responsible for supervision of programs, hourly maintenance employees, procedures, and goals to ensure that plant personnel are safe, productive and effectively utilized. This individual will must be able to work across all levels and areas of the facility with other key areas of operation as well as coach and develop others.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Create and revise maintenance procedures as needed Supervise dailymaintenance activities
Assist in all training of employees in proper maintenance techniques and equipment operation
Lead preventative maintenance practices
Maintain and constantly update critical parts list
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure that necessary amounts of inventory is in stock to reduce any delays or failures
Perform daily inspections and maintenance audits
Communicate in a professional and competent manner
Work with Operations to schedule work and planning schedules toaccommodate the Customer''s production plans and emergency repairs as needed
Works with Maintenance Manager to ensure plant capital project budgeting and successful project execution
Promote Zero Incident Safety Culture. Drive Plant Wide Safety Improvement and increase safety awareness and involvement
Working alongside Maintenance Manager to develop and implement an energy program to prevent waste/reduce utility consumption
Provide regular performance feedback to Maintenance Technicians; develop and maintain a sustainable system (work flow)
Identify work, plan jobs, schedule jobs, execute, audits, and continuously improve the quality and performance of the work being completed by Maintenance Technicians
Manage and approve department's time cards
Develop, maintain and manage sustainable Maintenance Software system documenting all Work Orders, Preventative Maintenance, Parts Inventory and Equipment Data
Support and drive Process Improvement
Analyze maintenance problems and devise solutions to improve plant production, reduce downtime, prevent repeat failures and/or increase the time between scheduled preventative maintenance
Promote company core values, policy & procedures
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Ttwo year technical degree or equivalent and a required minimum of 5 years hands on maintenance experience (Bakery Mfg exp. Preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Competent in reading electrical and mechanical drawings
Knowledge of PLC''s is required
Individual must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability and flexibility to work any shift including weekends - this position covers weekends (Core Shift is Thursday - Monday)
Position requires a broad base knowledge of electric motors, belt, chain and gear drives, hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC systems
Ability to effectively troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures, implement repairs, and teach staff as applicable
Ability to work long hours when necessary including on call when required
Basic knowledge of State and Federal OSHA, NEC, NFPA, Safety & Environmental regulations
Demonstrated problem solving and business aptitude
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with both internal and external customers
Time management and prioritization skills are a must
Must possess leadership and team building skills
