Summary:
Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking a Desktop Technician for a contract role in a large corporate environment. This individual will installs, configure, diagnose, repair, and maintain system and end-user computer hardware and software.
Responsibilities:
Provides support for end-user and system devices, including PCs, printers, scanning and radio frequency devices, mobile technology (i.e., tablets and smart phones) and other products to meet published service level targets
Assesses need for and implements performance upgrades to personal computers (PCs), including installation of Central Processing Units (CPUs), Input/Output (I/O) and Network Information Card (NIC) cards, hard disks, hard drives, Random Access Machine (RAM), memory chips, Compact Disk-Read Only Memory (CD-ROM), and other hardware, to ensure maximum functionality
Serves as liaison between computer users and representatives of operating system or other system software/hardware suppliers to ensure accurate and timely communication to problem resolution
Utilizes software system to manage and track current end-user and business requests
Maintains current client technology documentation in designated areas for IT members and end users to reference when troubleshooting client technology issues.
Ensures assigned project tasks are completed on time and within budget parameters to meet goals established by IT project management.
Provides on-call support during evening and weekends to meet IT service level targets
Utilizes PCs, fixed function terminals, common keyboards, printers, and plotters while performing functions of position. Travels overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally
Qualifications:
Associates degree and Comp TIA A
Certification required
2 years of related experience, including experience imaging computers, required
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in PC hardware and software required
Excellent communication skills with a customer service orientation required
Ability to travel overnight and be on call required
Hardware manufacturer certification (i.e. Dell certified) preferred
Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or related certification preferred
Knowledge of networking, cabling specifications, and standards preferred
