Position Description
Our Data Analysts are members of our Data Services team in Information Technology (IT). IT is an integrated group of departments whose basic objective is to provide information, data processing, communications, process enhancements, and systems to support the business and management activities of Sentry. The Data Services team designs, controls and maintains the use of Sentry's data resources (analyzing data usage, interrelationships, defining physical data structures and logical views of data sets) on an enterprise wide basis.
Participate in the identification and development of program and data repository specifications
Participate in the design, development, and implementation of new and existing programs and systems
Provide detailed input on systems and program design, testing, and maintenance and documentation of new and existing systems
Are technically proficient in SQL, database management tools, and other technologies related to data warehousing.
Responds to systems problems by analyzing the problem, formulating a solution, and changing or repairing the system to avoid costly interruption of services to users
Uses communication skills to effectively interface with other Information Technology personnel.
Utilizes and adheres to the Solution Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project management methodology.
Understands and adheres to Sentry Information Technology standards and procedures.
Coordinates with other Information Technology personnel to ensure all systems interrelate as required.

Position Requirements
Bachelors Degree or equivalent education or experience
Experience in business intelligence tools and systems.
Experience in developing and supporting analytical data stores using dimensional modeling techniques is considered beneficial.
Experience in developing with Informatica.
Experience in SQL development, in particular T-SQL.
Experience in working with relational databases, in particular SQL Server.
Communication skills (written and oral) are necessary.
Demonstrated sense of logic, decision making and problem resolution skills are necessary. Ability to work in a team effort is required.
Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is considered beneficial.
Ability to work on-call hours
