Job Summary :
Reporting to the VP of eCommerce, the Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects according to predetermined timelines and budgets. Building and managing project teams, reporting to key stakeholders and the project sponsor, and ensuring quality control throughout project lifecycles are imperative for this position.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Manage project development from initiation to completion.
Be accountable for project results along with project sponsor.
Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to complete project outline including scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing.
Identify when each task will be performed, the individuals or teams responsible for completing that task, and a clear view of what completion looks like.
Clearly communicate expectations and updates to stakeholders, team members, and project sponsor.
Resolve any issues and solve problems throughout the project.
Effectively manage project scope by ensuring that any changes to scope are documented and approved prior to implementation.
Determine if external consultants or contractors will be required to complete project plan. If required, recruit and manage appropriate staffing resources.
Complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved.
Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.
Develop documentation for routine functions derived from new projects and ensure that all documentation is available to stakeholders following project completion.
Skills:
Demonstrated leadership in a team environment managing people.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments.
Work
Experience: 3 or more years in project management.
Project management experience managing website development and eCommerce is strongly valued.
Education: College Degree
Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with project management tools and/or software packages.
Familiarity with eCommerce systems and infrastructure
Book industry knowledge is a plus
