POSITION Overview:
Parsons Transportation has worked with the Maryland Aviation Administration at Baltimore Washington Thurgood International Airport for over two decades. Parsons Transportation is the Construction Manager at BWI, overseeing a variety of large and small scale projects. Projects include both airfield and terminal work. Parsons scope of work includes field inspection services, cost negotiation, estimating and schedule reviews, design reviews, office administration, bid tabulations, and other Construction Management related activities.
This position will join the Parsons BWI Team as an Associate Engineer, reporting to a Resident Engineer. This position will be responsible to perform a variety of engineering duties by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses. The Engineer at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained under close supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures. Assignments may include a variety of tasks in Project Controls, Procurement, Field Inspection, Office Administration, Design Review and Construction Management.
Responsibilities:
Performs various engineering, construction management, project controls and administration assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories studied in a four-year university engineering program.
Prepares or assists with preparing material quantity takeoffs, estimates, preparation of meeting minutes, meeting agenda's, submittal preparation and review, request for information preparation and review, bid document preparation, bid summaries, field coordination with General Contractor's and Design Engineers, field inspection, and coordination with other Parsons BWI Team members.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications
Requirements
- 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 2-5 years of related work experience.
- Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field. Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is also required. Previous Construction Management, General Contracting experience, and interest in Aviation preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
