The Finance and Insurance Accounting Systems Manager administers, plans, develops, implements and supports FM Global''s Finance and Insurance Accounting systems. The successful candidate will preside over solution implementation, analysis, application development, and maintenance activities and provides oversight management of external (contractors) development resources used in conjunction with their group's projects. Additionally, s/he works with the Finance and Investments business communities and senior IT management to develop strategic and tactical plans for IT services as well as to ensure regular and effective communication occurs with all parties regarding business direction/priorities, expectations (including Change Management), project status and project risks/issues.
Additional responsibilities include:
1. Make complex and high impact decisions for assigned IS functions and in support of Finance and Investments from a strategic perspective
to identify and maximize opportunities to improve business processes, promote the strategic use of and enable the workforce to use
technologies as a competitive tool.
2. Work with key business leaders to define critical information needs, providing guidance and subject matter expertise.
3. Develop and provides input to IS processes and policies and approves recommendation of new technologies.
4. Maintains autonomy for most decisions in area of responsibility, however, in some cases, issues may be significant enough to result in
strategy and decision making at a higher level of the organization; has authority to modify process and policies within functional area of
responsibility.
5. Provides strong leadership to cross-functional teams and project managers.
6. Defines service levels and service agreements and manages to those standards.
7. Manages staff and understands and administers appropriate employee relations policies and procedures, including, all aspects of the hiring
process; performance management; employee development; disciplinary action; and termination.
8. Determines candidates to be interviewed, makes hire/termination recommendations, develops/delivers performance appraisals and
corrective action plans and establishes employee objectives through performance management process; recommends compensation
adjustments and promotions.
9. Develops, trains and coaches employees in new skills and identifies and develops leadership candidates. Aligns IS resources based on
business plans.
10. Makes technology decisions to be utilized to solve a problem.
11. Develops budgetary requirements for area of responsibility and decides when to involve contract resources or other personnel outside of
their area.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus;
Master's degree or equivalent, highly desirable.
Experience:

years in IT and/or related disciplines
4
years of supervising staff or leading a team or multiple teams
Skills/Knowledge:
Significant knowledge of business processeses, preferrably in Insurance/Finance
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express complex technical concepts or business rules in business terms
Strong customer focus with ability to manage client expectations of business sponsor/business unit staff.
Strong project management skills with experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from vision through implementation
involving cross-functional staff and both internal and external resources.
Demonstrated ability with project life cycle management with the ability to plan and execute large scale projects.
Demonstrated ability to staff, lead, influence and motivate individuals that may comprise multiple, results-driven project teams which apply
skills and techniques to solve problems and to meet business objectives.
Strong technical knowledge with ability in strategic and tactical planning relating to information technology and business applications.
Experience in overseeing software package implementations as well as internally developed solutions - Experience with PeopleSoft Financials
and/or SAP ERP a plus

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
