IAC Search & Media has a SEM Statistical Analyst opening in Oakland, CA. Provide statistical analysis on keyword characteristics, seasonal trends, and other factors impacting company portfolio performance and bidding systems in order to maximize Return on Investment (ROI) and maintain revenue growth. Work on complex data sets to drive business decisions; summarize complex findings into concise, deliverable results; communicate findings clearly and concisely; and translate statistical results to actionable business recommendations. Perform data mining, computational statistics, natural language processing, Pay Per Click (PPC) management, lead generation, performance marketing, web analytics, pattern recognition, and financial modeling for trading and risk management. Deliver expertise in diverse methods of regression/correlation analysis; parametric and non-parametric inferential statistical methods; R, SAS and SPSS; and scripts such as SQL and Perl. Prepare large data sets for statistical analysis, including identifying outliers, variable transformation, and Box-Cox analysis. Apply detailed knowledge of assumptions underlying statistical analysis and identify and correct data issues prior to analysis.
Requirements: Masters in Computer Science, Statistical, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or related technical field and 2 years experience in job offered or statistics-related occupation.
Experience must include:
1. data mining, computational statistics, natural language processing
2. pattern recognition, and financial modeling for risk management.
3. Statistical experience should include: diverse methods of regression/correlation analysis
4. Parametric and non-parametric inferential statistical methods
5. Preparing large data sets for statistical analysis (e.g., identifying outliers, variable transformation, Box-Cox analysis, etc.)
6. Experience making detailed assumptions underlying statistical analysis and identifying and correcting data issues prior to analysis.
7. Translating complex statistical results to actionable business recommendations.
8. Experience with R, SAS, and/or SPSS, and scripts such as SQL and Perl.
9. Hands on experience in dealing with large, complex data sets
