Product Development Engineer - HVAC
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
The primary purpose of this position is to gather requirements from the customer, generate and coordinate the system level requirements for an electrical subsystem and document those requirements in a defined structure which include hardware, software, component, electronic, diagnostic and serviceability.
Responsible for performing FMEA, providing validation requirements, reviewing validation data, preparing Interface Control Document, and Device Transmittal
Have knowledge of or experience in one or more of the following systems; brake systems, engine systems, transmission systems, HVAC systems, sensors, controls, instrumentation, power distribution systems, J1939/CAN protocol, embedded microcontroller electronics and simulation on electrical power system and wire system.
Technical writing - Knowledge of the regulations affecting motor vehicles such as: DOT, FMVSS, CMVSS, SAE, and ECE
Knowledge of quality tools - Experience in working with both internal, external customers and suppliers
Understands the systems engineering approach
Have experience with electrical system integration.
Ability to translate and document customer requirements into new system level designs and/or existing system improvements.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Experience with Mentor Graphics, IBM Rational Tools, Teamcenter are plus
Functional/Technical Skill - Positive Attitude - Dealing with Ambiguity - Learning on the Fly - Problem Solving
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (prefer Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering) or Computer Science
