On April 28th, 2014 Toyota announced it is uniting its separate headquarters locations in North America-including Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., Toyota Financial Services, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. and Toyota Motor North America- to a single, shared campus in North Dallas Community of Plano, Texas. In addition, we are also expanding our Technical Center on the York campus near Ann Arbor, Michigan and constructing a new facility on Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky's campus in Georgetown, KY to house Production Engineering.
This position is currently located at Erlanger, KY and will be relocating to Ann Arbor, MI by 2017.

Responsibilities:
Outsourced parts Production Engineering (PE) function for Supplier and Toyota North American Manufacturing improvement & development.
Break-Through Supplier Quality (BTSQ) & Supplier Improvement Committee (SIC) primary function is mass production improvement in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, delivery, lead-time, and cost.
Job function Includes project management, collaboration between Toyota & Supplier (at multiple levels), production preparation, and launch readiness following the SED Operating Procedure (OP).
Lead and direct the launch of High Risk Commodity (HRC) Rank S & A parts from Design stage to Start of Production (SOP) at the Supplier's facility
Lead and Support collaborative improvement and technical engineering activities with Design, Quality, Production, and the Supplier
Supplier Project Management (SPM) of B & C Ranked Parts from Sourcing to Start of Production.
Daily coaching and development of Supplier team members and internal collaboration with fellow team members in the technical areas of Casting/Forging, Heat Treatment, Welding and Machining.
BTSQ/SIC project strategy development and execution with Supplier team
Implement, check, and modify project plans to meet established targets through direct involvement with Toyota's & Supplier's team members and management.
High Risk Commodity Engineering / New Model Management Activities of critical outsourced Engine, Transmission, and Chassis parts such as: Camshafts, Alternators, Clutches, Gears, Driveshafts, CVJ's, Shocks/Struts, Electric and Hydraulic Power Steering.
Job scope includes production engineering & project management support to suppliers from N-40 to SOP.
BTSQ / SIC: Improvement activity at suppliers with focus on problem solving in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, productivity, lead-time, and cost.
New Model Activity in the areas of Master Schedule, Planning, SE, Production Prep, Trials, Readiness and Reflection
BTSQ / SIC: TPS skills, Problem Solving and Coaching
Problem resolution includes technical problem solving specific to: (A) Commodity Areas related to part/tooling/process (B) Project management issues with internal Toyota Divisions and Supplier (C) Project Strategy & Mindset issues between Supplier and Toyota
Execution of the Toyota Way through the Toyota Business Practice
## Qualifications
_Requirements:_
Bachelor''s Degree
Manufacturing experience in area of Quality, Production Engineering, or equivalent
Knowledge of Process planning, cost analysis, tool & equipment design in the areas of Casting/Forging, Heat Treatment, Welding and/or Machining
Experience with planning and project management.
Preferences:
Quality, Production or related engineering experience with automotive powertrain or chassis components.
Expert Level Knowledge of Process planning, cost analysis, tool & equipment design in the areas of Casting/Forging, Heat Treatment, Welding or Machining
New Model Launch experience with exposure to outside groups and their roles and responsibilities
Experience Interacting in a Japanese Business Environment
