The Compliance Officer oversees the Corporate Compliance Program for MaineGeneral Community Care and is accountable for achievement of an effective compliance program. This person will direct and coordinate MGCC's efforts to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies that govern its general operations, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial business. Provides leadership and authority necessary to accomplish accepted duties.
Qualifications/Competencies
Health Care Compliance Certification required within one year of hiring
Bachelor's degree, or a level of knowledge usually acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree preferred
5 years or more, compliance experience, public or private, in compliance issues governing the provision of healthcare preferred
Previous state or federal regulatory or healthcare compliance experience preferred
Experience in regulatory matters, legal research, auditing, quality assurance, corporate compliance or other related experience preferred
Experience conducting detailed research and interpreting complex laws and regulations preferred
A proven track record of building relationships and strategic partnerships with a variety of senior leadership in a manner that establishes trust and credibility
High integrity, excellent organizational, analytical skills and excellent judgment.
Strong influencing skills and perseverance in investigating.
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively engage employees in a positive manner.
Ability to work well both independently and with others in a matrix environment.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and legal documents.
Ability to write clear, concise reports, business correspondence and procedures.
Ability to effectively present and represent the plan's interests externally with regulators.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from employees, regulatory agencies and others, as necessary.
Ability to initiate administrative activities as necessary and institute quality control procedures.
Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changes in company policies, procedures and priorities.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
