F/T IT Auditor (Birmingham, AL). Participate as an effective team member to perform IT substantive and control testing procedures under direction of the Senior Auditor or Audit Manager. Perform evaluations of established IT controls as a team member and meet deadlines by providing audit work to the Senior Auditor or Audit Manager in accordance with the established time budget. Participate as a productive member of the team in continuous audit (data mining), audit process automation, and computer assisted audit techniques. Develop a working knowledge of company operations and make recommendations for streamlining IT processes. Participate as a team member on special projects and provide ad hoc consulting services to various groups throughout the enterprise. Provide the Senior Auditor or Audit Manager with cost-effective practical recommendations for remediating risks associated with the audit findings identified during testing. Identify technology-related risks, and provide the Senior Auditor or Audit Manager with recommendations for evaluating those risks, through direct examination of systems, parallel process comparison, ethical hacking, statistical analysis, interview, and automated monitoring. Apply knowledge of professional standards as established by recognized authorities, including the IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) and the ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association), during audit testing. Utilize proficiency with MS Office Suite of tools including Word, Excel and Access. Must have a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Employer will accept Masters Degree in lieu of Bachelors degree. Work or educational background must include experience with: Audit or IS experience with operating systems, database, programming, systems security, network infrastructure, and project management; Identifying technology-related risks, and develop methods for evaluating those risks, through direct examination of systems, parallel process comparison, statistical analysis, interview, and automated monitoring; Utilizing advanced skills with MS Office Suite of tools including Word, Excel and Access; Compliance auditing; Accounting and finance; Working with production databases, independently creating SQL scripts and code to extract and analyze data; and Performing complex statistical analysis using common software products. Must have passed CISA exam.
