PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide professional services to our natural gas utility operations in multiple states. Reviews DOT regulations, and develops procedures to comply with regulations. Works in partnership with the Material Standards Committee to develop material standards, and to maintain the company's quality control program. Develops procedures and provides joining/inspection training. Develops training for compliance with Operator Qualifications regulation, and trains trainers for hands-on certification. Performs Operations and Maintenance audits at various field locations.
_REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:_ Director, Gas Engineering Services
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides general engineering support and service to natural gas operations in the company's multiple state natural gas business.
Develops and maintains sections of the Gas Operations and Maintenance manual, the Gas Operating Standards manual, the Gas Material Standards manual, and the Gas Emergency Plan manual.
Responsible for developing compliance plans for new DOT regulations, such as the Distribution Integrity Management Program, Public Awareness, etc.
Responsible for providing technical expertise and training in plastic fusion and inspection, and for the certification of steel welders.
Maintain the regulator and relief valve database, providing accurate calculated capacities of district regulator station and town border station equipment.
Performs Operations and Maintenance audits at various field locations.
Maintains a successful partnership with network operations.
Initiates and prepares necessary state and federal reporting.
Provides general technical support and training for Natural Gas Utility Operations.
ADDITIONAL
Responsibilities:
Provides professional services elsewhere in the company's energy business, as requested.
Participates in community relations based activity, where desired and where interest exists.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Works with state and federal pipeline safety commissions on pipeline safety regulations.
Works with operations managers and supervisors.
Contact with vendors, suppliers, industry associations.

Experience:
5 or more years' gas industry experience preferred; knowledge of gas operations, maintenance and construction practices.
EDUCATION:
Requires either a Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree.
KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrated technical and operational expertise.
Good grasp of general business and financial principles.
Good understanding of network design, standards, drafting and general system operations.
Understanding of drafting and mapping software.
Proficient in word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
SKILLS/ABILITY/OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

Effective presentation, facilitation and training skills.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Ability to lead and participate with cross-functional teams.

CERTIFICATIONS/CREDENTIALS:
Registered Professional Engineer certification preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
