ASE Mechanic (Fleet Experience) (Conroe Tx)
Compensation: Pays up to $24/Hr DOE
JOB
Summary:
Perform a variety of tasks on various types of vehicles/equipment such as autos, light/medium/heavy duty diesel trucks, heavy construction equipment such as cranes.
Jobs such as maintenance inspections and light repairs involve minor adjustments, testing, measuring and/or replacement of parts, tires and components.
Major repairs involve recondition and replace parts such as axles, pistons, bearing, gears, seals, valves, bushings and pumps using engine lathes, press machines, various tools and precision measuring instruments, replacement may require dis-assembly and/or re-assembly of an engine, transmission, differential or hydraulic components, etc.
This position has no supervisory and no budgetary responsibilities but can move up.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and identify malfunctions using computerized diagnostic tools and equipment
2. Disassemble and reassemble vehicle/equipment parts and components
3. Disassemble and reassemble major heavy equipment components or making
adjustments through on-board computer programs
4. Discuss vehicle/equipment issues, maintenance plans and work performed with customers
5. Identify mechanical and electrical problems, often using computerized diagnostic equipment
6. Follow checklist to ensure that all critical parts and components are examined
7. Inspect, repair and replace defective or worn parts
8. Records inspections, test results, work performed and parts used in Fleet Information Systems

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Workweek Full Time - 40 hours or more per week
Ability to utilize good judgment in analyzing and responding to emergency situations.
