The Rapides Area Planning Commission (RAPC) is a regional planning organization formed by ordinances of Alexandria, Pineville, and the Rapides Parish Police Jury under the authority of Section 1321 et. seq., of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 (www.rapc.info).RAPC houses the official MPO for the region.As a designated MPO, our primary mission is applied research on urban planning issues. We are responsible for fulfilling the federal and state transportation planning requirements specific to metropolitan and urbanized areas. This entails conducting transportation planning studies and evaluations, generating transportation improvement options and alternatives, and developing short and long term transportation plans.
A Transportation Director will be responsible for: Applying in-depth knowledge of urban and transportation planning theories and techniques and understanding of federal, state and regional planning laws and regulations, to perform technical and professional level work involving statistical analysis, data analysis, and travel modeling for use in current and long range urban/transportation planning. Compiling, collecting, and organizing data and maps related to transportation model. Developing modeling methods and procedures incorporating statistical and analytical techniques. Developing and implementing metropolitan transportation documents, plans, and programs including, but not limited to, Unified Planning Work Program, Transportation Improvement Program, Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Human Services Coordination Plan, Safe Routes to School Program, Travel Demand Management Program, and Central Louisiana Beltway Feasibility Study. Engaging in analysis and interpretation of demographic, economic and traffic data. Managing the Transportation Section of the Rapides Area Planning Commission and coordinating with staff to accomplish tasks set forth by governing boards and executive director. Directing transportation surveys and traffic data collection while applying knowledge of project feasibility and highway corridor studies. Managing and coordinating project information from Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, police juries, and local governments. Producing professional planning reports and quarterly progress reports. Staying abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of transportation modeling and land use.
Requirement: Masters in Urban PlanningEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
