Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Analyst, Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Information Technology organization.

Day to Day:_
The Senior Analyst,Database Administrator (DBA) role will Oversee the Operational Support of our Database Management Systems which support our various applications globally. Work with the global infrastructure strategic sourcing partner to design, plan and implement improvements and upgrades to the global database environment. Work with other GIS teams, such as Infrastructure Engineering, business partners and project teams to ensure additions and changes to our database environment conform with current standards, processes and strategic direction for the organization. Manage the vendors to ensure SLAs are met or exceeded. Manage tickets in the DBA queue.

What you will do:_
Providing service and support through our third part vendor for database troubleshooting,maintenance and support
Reporting monthly on the Service Level Agreement (SLA) attainments
Driving the strategy to move Whirlpool to better solutions globally
Work directly with our strategic sourcing partner to make sure our database environment is supported in the best possible manner for maximizing the value from contract.
Identify areas where support is not sufficient and help drive solutions to maximize the value derived.
Review and prioritize existing initiatives for each of our supported Database Management Systems (DB2 LUW, DB2 z/OS, IDMS, IMS, MS/SQL, Oracle).
Plan and coordinate changes to the database environments including upgrades, support packages,software corrections, parameter settings and other DBMS related changes
Actively participate in the change management process by working directly with other infrastructure groups, application support, change management and business teams
Review database related incidents looking for repetitive and/or common problems and help drive solutions that can be applied globally
Participate in the Problem Management process to make sure database related problems are properly addressed as part of the RCA process
Look for opportunities to use solutions to drive common processes and procedures globally for each DBMS
Work with project teams to ensure new databases or changes to existing databases are operationally ready and able to be properly supported during and after Go Lives
Manage the addition and subtraction of databases to the supported databases as they are created and decommissioned. Look for opportunities to decommission databases and reduce the overall cost of support
Perform audit reviews of the database systems to make sure only approved database administrators have system administrator authorizations.
Work with the strategic sourcing partner, Enterprise Architecture (EA) and the Infrastructure Engineering teams to design changes to the database environments. Review and approve those changes before implementation. Ensure that approved architectural standards are maintained as the database environment changes

Qualifications
_What you Need to Succeed_ :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
6 or more years' experience in the support and implementation of database technologies including DB2 LUW, MS/SQL, and Oracle in a large global enterprise environment.
Experience with IDMS and DB2 z/OS helpful. Real world hands-on experience - not class room experience
IT Vendor Management experience
Excellent written,verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to meet stringent deadlines; handle multiple tasks
Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment
