Vice President, Deputy General Counsel
Duties: Will report to and be a trusted advisor to the General Counsel. Will be responsible for assisting the General Counsel to manage the legal department, and to assist in providing advice and counsel to senior management in all matters relevant to the businesses and legal protection of the company. Will play a leading role in mentoring the assistant general counsels and corporate counsels to provide business oriented and pragmatic legal advice to internal clients. Will leverage skills as a strategic business partner and work with colleagues to interpret and provide creative business solutions as permitted under applicable law. Effectively manage a member legal department with in-house legal staff, currently consisting of attorneys and paralegals. Review and provide advice on all legal matters pertaining to acquisitions, strategic alliances, large-scale contracts and other commercial transactions or relations. Manage and resolve all legal issues pertaining to transactional, commercial, corporate and regulatory matters in a manner consistent with the Companys business decisions and strategy. Assist in the management and supervision of employment matters and litigation strategy. Participate in the selection and supervision of outside counsel when needed and to obtain the best possible representation in the most cost-effective manner. Effectively interface with senior management and the Board of Directors, and provide support, advice and counsel on strategic issues and board matters and concerns in the absence of the General Counsel. Act to protect the company by establishing risk and compliance standards and expectations while creating opportunities and paths to allow the company to execute strategy to the fullest extent.
Qualification Requirements: The candidate should hold a law degree from an American law school, be a member of a State Bar, and satisfy the requirements for practicing in-house attorneys. Possessing an MBA from an accredited business school is preferred. Must be an experienced attorney with the legal background and interpersonal skills sufficient to function successfully in a visible and legally challenging position. Possess a proven record of professional excellence and achievement with 15
years of broad corporate/commercial and finance experience as a practicing attorney in good standing. Experience in a national law firm and within a corporation is necessary; experience representing a company within the same or a very relevant sector is strongly preferred. Experience in providing advice and support to business operations as well as infrastructure functions. Demonstrate a record of providing substantive/technical legal advice and support to a board of directors, senior management team and business leaders, as well as a history of building strong relationships and possess a collaborative working style. Demonstrate deep commercial experience leading and closing various transactions (strategic alliances, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures), negotiating large scale contracts, and devising pragmatic, creative solutions for problems, opportunities and business strategies. A strong ability to manage risk holistically while driving business results and solutions which further the Companys strategy for growth.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
