This position is specific to individuals with Electric Utility distribution system experience.
The primary purpose of this position is to complete outage follow up and implement outage prevention measures on distribution facilities in an assigned area. This individual may also be involved in the resolution of power quality issues. Furthermore, this position may also be used to accurately evaluate voltage, loading, and reliability on the electric distribution system, provide cost-effective solutions to allow for system improvements, and to maximize safety and enhanced service reliability. This position will be expected to become proficient with the use and application of the outage management system and to be available for regularly scheduled callout duty, including inclusion on a weekly callout duty roster at periodic intervals. The position will be expected to respond to and actively participate in outage restoration events, includeing after hours. Another purpose of this position may be to accurately evaluate options, and design safe, cost-effective, reliable facilities for repair, maintenance and reliability upgrades to the distribution system. This position may also design major circuit construction and rebuild projects across a geographic area. Due to this positions customer interaction and/or job complexity, the Distribution Engineering Technologist is one of Electric Distributions primary face-to-face contacts with key customers (both internal and external), requiring them to be self-motivated, savvy, reliable, and trustworthy; as well as technically competent. This self-directed individual develops relationships with internal and external customers, builders, developers, electricians, other utilities, city officials, etc., and promotes methods and procedures that maximize effectiveness. This position may be responsible for designing complex distribution projects such as downtown underground projects, high profile projects, projects requiring the highest reliability, etc. The position may assist in the training of other engineering classifications. It provides engineering expertise to recognize and resolve engineering problems, assists in interpreting codes, standards, regulations, requirements, and guidelines. Work contributes significantly to balancing customer service and reliability needs within capital and Operations & Maintenance budget constraints.
Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a two year degree in a technical discipline, such as electronics, construction, electrical, mechanical or civil engineering or technology or High School diploma with significant field experience, with progress toward two year degree requirement. Typically 2 to 4 years experience in Distribution Engineering Self directed Self motivated Team player Valid drivers license Negotiating Skills Time Management Verbal and written communication skills Analytical skills Decision making skills Advanced Computer Skills Knowledge of Basic Electricity Knowledge of distribution construction standards & methods Comprehension of legal documents Understanding of Work Management systems Demonstrated competency in the Distribution Engineering Associate job skills.
Desired Qualifications 4 years distribution engineering experience Demonstrated experience with outage follow up activities and outage data analysis Thorough understanding of Electric Distribution materials, work procedures, and work dependencies 2 Year Tech degree or 4 Year BS Degree Proficient user of PC based programs commonly used in analyzing, preparing and managing field work. Understanding of R&I/ESD processes Knowledge and proficiency in company higher level analysis programs and tools.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
