Description:
The Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group of Leidos has a current job opportunity for a mid-level Cloud Data Security Engineer, supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Alexandria, VA. Note: This position is based on an award to Leidos.
The Cloud Data Security Engineer will be part of a team that is developing and operationalizing an infrastructure to provide Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Situational Awareness data, analytics, and knowledge at different levels of classification to users around the world. This effort includes life cycle support to cloud hardware, analytic software applications and databases, and the implementation of a data analytics and visualization capability. The Cloud Data Security Engineer will be located at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at Fort Belvoir, VA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Chief Engineer and Chief System Architect to capture, analyze, and decompose system security requirements, and assist in the development, documentation, and testing of design solutions that meet those requirements.
Assess data security controls in accordance with security standards, frameworks, laws, and policies, and support any security audits.
Conduct security control assessment interviews with information system security stakeholders, collect and review artifacts and evidence for compliance with security controls, and ensure the quality assurance of security assessment results in system security packages.
Prepare and review, as required, security assessment reports and any required data security documentation.
Work with the leads of other subsystems, customers, and process owners to ensure proper data security procedures are developed, put in place, and are enforced throughout the life cycle of the system.
Provide input to developmental and operational metrics reports, as needed.
Explore new technologies related to the cloud data security, make recommendations for their introduction into the developmental and operational environments, and assist in implementing the approved improvements.
Assist in risk management activities.
Assist in troubleshooting, managing, and reporting problem resolution, including root cause analysis.

Qualifications:
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
Bachelor''s degree in related technical discipline and 8
years' experience.
Knowledge and experience working with big data IT systems, and familiarity with the management and operational and technical aspects of IT Security.
Ability to interpret data security policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and regulations, and be knowledgeable of or have experience conducting data security certification and accreditation.
Knowledge and experience architecting and configuring enterprise security and compliance monitoring tools and sensors, to include: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, vulnerability detection and management solutions, network access control solutions, issue tracking systems, and centralized security management systems.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Formal system engineering process and educational experience, such as provided by INCOSE.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels of staff and management.
Flexibility and personality skills to work within a dynamic, high-visibility, multi-contractor environment, working with government and contractor.
Ability to assist customers effectively and courteously.
Broad understanding of risk management practices and security program development, including change management, access control, and physical security.
Broad IP network and security engineering experience, including a basic understanding of IP routing and quality of service mechanisms and hands-on experience configuring, deploying, and managing mission critical network appliances such as routers and firewalls.
CISSP or equivalent certification.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
