# POSITION STATEMENT
To provide leadership and direction by planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the execution of company and supplier programs through assigned field sales team to achieve optimum sales volume and ensure effective presentation of supplier brands
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
# Planning - Division Sales Managers are expected to plan their own time and activities as well as those of assigned sales team to ensure the continuing achievement of company and supplier sales objectives by:
Developing monthly programs to attain supplier and corporate goals to include volume, profit, distribution, placement, and promotional activity.
Knowing and analyzing supplier brands, the Young's Market Company sales organization, the retail trade, and assigned supervisory areas, specifically:
The brand, type, and size beverage alcohol sales trends.
The sales organization management, selling, and placement capabilities of Young's Market Company versus competitive wholesalers.
The key retail accounts, buyers, purchasing, and promotional practices and procedures.
The sales volume, distribution, placement, and promotional practices and procedures.
Coordinating and monitoring the activities of sales team, and providing measurable and achievable volume, distribution, placement, and promotion sales and merchandising objectives compatible with company and supplier priorities.
Establishing Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Stretching, and Harmonious (SMASH) training objectives for assigned sales team.
Working in the field with sales team a minimum of four full days a week.
Analyzing program execution and plans work-with schedule based upon needs.
Utilizing available resources to maximize results within area of responsibility.
Organizing - Division Sales Managers are expected to organize the structure and utilization of sales representative in assigned areas and ensure that all positions and territories are appropriately staffed to achieve company and supplier objectives by:
Coordinating and monitoring the schedules of sales team to concentrate on in-field activities.
Ensuring that the structure of all sales territories provide the account coverage and service frequency levels consistent with actual potential sales volume and reasonable customer requirements.
Utilizing assigned personnel to gain optimum utilization of individual capabilities and to best serve retail customer needs.
Keeping approved positions staffed with qualified sales personnel that meet the company's hiring criteria.
Attracting, developing and thus retaining sales team.
Maintaining adequate, well-organized inventories of sales tools, supplies, and merchandising materials needed to support territory activities.
Supervising - Division Sales Managers are expected to skillfully direct assigned sales team through appropriate training, communication, motivation, and evaluations as necessary to ensure the achievement of company and supplier sales objectives by:
Conducting field training of new and current sales representatives, brand development specialists, and key account specialists in accordance with the company's training program so that each individual assigned has both the knowledge and skills to fulfill job responsibilities and achieve company and supplier objectives.
Working with each sales representative to establish strategies to accomplish supplier and company objectives.
Providing leadership, guidance, direction, and support needed to attain the commitment and motivation to achieve company and supplier objectives.
Conveying knowledge of key customer's business operations and the ability to coordinate multiple and diverse options for selling the company's products to each.
Performing the tasks necessary to achieve the established quota/objectives for the assigned accounts.
Having extensive knowledge of the brands and knowing in-depth features and benefits of each compared to the competition and conveying that information to their sales team.
Conducting meetings as needed to effectively communicate objectives, programs, strategies, policies and procedures to assigned sales representatives.
Initiating the actions necessary to implement all elements of Young's Market Company programs within the supervisory areas.
Preparing and conducting formal performance evaluations for the VP Sales Manager
Following and demanding the adherence to the federal, state and local laws and regulations governing the sales of alcohol beverage products.
Maintaining and developing positive management relations to required annual business reviews.
Controlling - Division Sales Managers are expected to take actions necessary to ensure that teams sales results conform to company and supplier plans by:
Measuring through reports, field work-withs, and account audit results versus objectives during implementation of programs to ensure overall success.
Developing and maintaining control books for each direct report.
Evaluating to determine the cause of sales and placement problems identified.
Correcting performance deficiencies through specific selling, training, and motivating actions.
Ensuring that selling expenses are kept at or below projected levels.
Communicating - Division Sales Managers are expected to serve as information resources for, and conduits between the field and the VP Sales Manager by:
Monitoring pricing and programming within respective area of responsibility
Following standard company policies and procedures.
Submitting required or requested reports promptly and accurately as directed by management.
Maintaining reliable and up-to-date sales performance, territory, and account records as well as personnel records.
Imparting knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the sales function to sales team.
Keeping management informed on customer activities, sales trends and competitive activity in the territory.
Establishing and maintaining productive supplier and customer relationships.
Providing continuity with the customer.
Communicating all sales issues and opportunities for their respective area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
##### ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Requires 3-5 years management experience with proven track record
Requires 2-3 years sales experience in the beverage alcohol industry with proven successful track record
Bachelor degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and leadership skills
Must have a strong focus on customer service
Must be computer literate including MS Office suite
Ability to interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and analyze financial or market data
Ability to speak effectively before managers, customers, or employees in the organization
Ability to successfully reach goals by working with management, direct reports, and customers throughout the business and industry at every level.
Must possess a valid Hawaii drivers license, reliable vehicle, and clean DMV record
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to multi-task in a fast environment, to work productively under stress, and meet deadlines.
Must possess strong project management and follow through skills
