Job Description

This individual will be placed on a brand team and will be responsible for coordinating brand related projects that impact the business. The Marketing Coordinator must become a future leader in the organization and establish strong relationships throughout the company.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Model the Spectrum Brands eight Core Capabilities to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility.

The Marketing Coordinator will assist the brand team in the following areas:
Product Development:
Assist Brand Management team to understand the scope and cost of new product development including coordinating meetings, completing new product development process forms and working with several departments including Supply Chain, Cost Accounting, Packaging Engineering, Regulatory, R&D and Graphics. Marketing Coordinator may also be responsible for creating presentations to showcase concepts and ideas to Marketing team.
Consumer Promotion:
Coordinate with graphics department, sales organization and clearinghouse development of coupon, rebate, POP(point of purchase) programs. Marketing Coordinator is expected to oversee promotion through launch date and monitor redemption.
Competitive/Market Research:
Regularly visit retailers to research products, pricing and competition information relevant to category. Also conduct online research monitoring competitive activity press releases, quarterly earnings, etc.
In-store promotion planning:
Assist Brand Management team specifically with product placement, signage, planograms and POP related to in-store displays. Coordinating and communicating these with sales team.
Presentation Development:
Contribute to the Brand Management team with presentations including formatting, images, pricing information, benefits and features of products using PowerPoint for internal and external customers.
Business Tracking and Analysis of shipping and POS data:
Track and compile competitive price gaps, shipments, POS(point of sale) data, sales information in Excel for Brand Management team to review.
Media Planning:
Assist Brand Manager in planning of radio, TV and print campaigns. Determine locations for drops, frequency and monitoring success of campaigns.
Field Sales Communication:
Be the point of contact for the sales group and execute sell sheets for products.

An equivalent combination of:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Advertising/Communication
0-2 years of experience
Relevant classroom experience in new product development, consumer communication and marketing strategy
