Position
Summary:
Jones Metal Products is currently seeking a team player that is responsible for the monitoring of quality through inspection of material and product, containment of defective material, analysis of quality trends and corrective actions. Also a crucial member of continuous improvement team in support of customer requirements, ISO certification and Jones Metal Products, Inc. business objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
Writes control plans, implements necessary SPC, tracks internal and external quality levels, compiles Pareto charts and distributes quality information throughout the company.
Receives incoming materials, measures work in-process and finished products.
Trains, when necessary, floor personnel in procedures and inspections.
Acts as team member for internal ISO audits.
As a member of a cross-functional team, helps to determine root causes of non-conforming products and develop effective corrective actions to prevent occurrence.
Completes and submits customer-required documentation to include 1stArticles, FMEAS and PPAPs.
Shuts down production of non-conforming processes.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
College degree preferred.
Quality Technician Certification - CQT desired.
7-10 years of quality experience in a sheet metal or machining environment.
2-3 years of experience as a quality technician.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001/2008.
Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge with proven application.
Faro Arm experience desirable.
Working knowledge of metrology, gauges, open plate inspection, GD&T.
Knowledge of materials in a steel fabrication environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including weld symbols and GD&T callouts.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite software important.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Moderate physical effort required.
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to bend and stoop.
Must regularly lift up to 30 pounds, frequently lift up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position requires frequent use of a computer monitor.
Work performed in a shop environment: exposed to dust, odors, fumes, heat, loud noise and other elements.
Use of proper protective equipment as required or recommended in shop area: eye protection, hearing protection, safety footwear.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
