Tractor Trailer Mechanic
Description
A Canton area company is in need of a mechanic for repair of tractor trailers used by the company. This position will not involve any repair of the actual trucks just the trailers.
This position will require the inspection and repair of functionality and aesthetics of various tractor trailers in the company as directed by leadership. The mechanic will need to learn, understand, and maintain to the regulations set forth by the Ohio Department of Transportation to ensure legal and safe operation of all tractor trailers within the company. Repairs can include but are not limited to:
- Air brakes
- Wreck repair
- Suspension
- Electronics
- ABS
Requirements
- Must be experienced and show proficiency in repair of tractor trailers and related mechanisms (no engine/diesel mechanic skills necessary
- Must have experience in welding
- Must have experience in a variety of hand tools and power tools
- Experience in preventive maintenance, inspections, and an understanding of ODOT regulations related to Class A Tractor / Trailers
