Description
Summary:
The Safety Manager, Regulatory & Compliance manages manufacturing plant-wide efforts to continuously improve plant operations by standardizing and improving health & safety compliance at the facility. The Plant Manager fulfills the duties of this role in case of a vacancy.

DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities are representative and may be expanded.
Coordinates and oversees health & safety policies, procedures, training programs testing and other assessment programs.
Ensures that the health & safety program is organized, documented and complies with OSHA, EPA and other local, state and federal regulations.
Surveys, compiles, and analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health.
Responds to various State environmental agency inquires about hazardous waste materials and environmental conditions at the Northlake site.
Ensures that all injuries and illnesses are thoroughly investigated, properly reported, and related documents are ready for possible litigation.
Obtains or assists in obtaining environmental permits or other government regulatory approvals or licenses.
Ensures compliance to all regulatory & compliance training regulations.
Continuously improve regulatory & compliance programs, culture, and incident rate.
Assists other Scholle facilities with environmental, health & safety issues, as needed.
Ensure continuous improvement of product safety efforts in audits and system leadership.
Manage Operation Risk Management Program.
Responsible for implementing and coordinating the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) for the site.
Lead and coordinate 3rd Party, Customer and Internal Audits.
Responsible for overseeing food safety and defense.

SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and guidance to staff members.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, preferably in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
Minimum four (4) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Six Sigma skills or other technical quality techniques preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards, HACCP, SQF, VPP, and GMA-SAFE preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
