Summary:
Responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and calibration of natural gas measurement equipment. Perform gas quality and contaminant testing for compliance with the Company''s gas composition requirements. Maintain and troubleshoot communication equipment and systems for reliable collection and transfer of measurement related data to the main computer systems. Review measurement data for accuracy and make necessary edits of data. Perform all tasks in a manner that supports the Company''s mission, vision and goals.
Primary Duties:
Application of AGA 3 standards for orifice metering in the field; Includes the routine inspection of the primary elements and basic troubleshooting.
Routine verification and calibration of pressure and temperature transmitters.
Utilize high accuracy calibration equipment in the calibration of transmitters.
Sample flowing gas streams according to Company procedures to determine composition.
Install and maintain auto-samplers; obtain gas samples on wellhead meters per GPA and Enogex sampling methods.
Install, calibrate, test, inspect, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic recording devices (EFM) on small volume wellhead meters.
Perform periodic measurement calibrations and perform preventive maintenance on orifice meters according to measurement procedures.
Analyze flow and gas quality data using various computer programs.
Install and setup a flow computer, sampling system, solar panel and battery, and radio communications system on a new meter.
Attend training on operation and maintenance of measurement equipment.
Attend training on various measurement topics such as AGA, system balancing, and certification test preparation.
Use computers for performing daily tasks such as calibration and troubleshooting on the flow computer.
Use Microsoft applications to perform various calculations, create reports, send/receive emails, and track meter testing.
Attend basic balance training for the understanding of segment flow and energy balance concepts, types of unaccounted flow and energy, and basic balance troubleshooting tips.
Working Conditions:
Required to carry pager and/or cell phone while on-call and respond to call-outs, potentially including weekends and holidays.
Subject to operating personal computer for extended periods.
Required to work independently and complete scheduled work with minimal supervision.
Requires frequent travel via truck (some overnight) to locations throughout the system to monitor equipment and perform measurement activities.
Must be able to move about on foot and follow safety and emergency response procedures.
Requires lifting of equipment and supplies weighing over 50 pounds.
On a routine basis, must climb ladders, walkways and scaffolds.
Requires the ability to work outdoors in weather extremes and near equipment with potentially high noise levels.
Minimum Requirements:
Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Computer Technology or other technical discipline or High School Diploma and three (3) of related experience
Valid State Driver s License
Preferred Skills:
Preference may be given to current Enable Midstream, OG&E or CenterPoint Energy employees
Mechanical and electrical aptitude. Possess basic knowledge in the operation and mechanics of all types of electrical, measurement, and instrumentation equipment.
Understand the process and requirements for calibration of process variables such as temperature and pressure.
Ability to test, inspect, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic devices associated with measurement applications.
Ability to conduct gas contaminant testing using industry methods similar to Kittigawa and Sensidyne tubes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (Preferred).
Knowledge of basic computer proficiency, MS Office.
Experience and knowledge in troubleshooting and repair of all types of equipment pertaining to instrument/electrical trade: a) 4-20 mA signal; b) basic AC and DC knowledge.
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of control systems.
Effective communication skills necessary to promote compliance with procedures and cooperation with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
Successfully complete the level 1 certification test.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
