Hot Strip Mill Turn Supervisor

Position Description:
The Hot Strip Mill Turn is responsible for overseeing all activities of production and maintenance for the scheduled turn. This position reports directly to the Hot Strip Mill Division Manager.
Responsibilities:
Insures that assigned crew is trained to perform their duties in a manner consistent with all safety standards. Insures that all safety policies and Safe Job Procedures (SJP) are followed. Audits operation to insure that the safety policies and SJP?s are being followed
Provides weekly and monthly safety contacts and meetings. Insures that ASI?s for his area are completed per the Division?s schedule and issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Insures that operators are trained in standard operating practices and that they are following them by performing periodic audits.
Provides the communication link between management and employees. Insures that important information from Managers and previous turns is communicated to all employees. Insures that the employee issues are heard and addressed.
Assures that all quality Standards are implemented.
Oversees Maintenance personnel on the off turns.
Is responsible for completing all turn reports and communicating key issues with other supervisors.
Addresses any attendance or discipline issues on the turn.
Coordinates all turn activities to optimize productivity.
Qualifications:
Must be a zealot on Safety
Must believe in standardization
3-5 years experience working in steel manufacturing
Results oriented
Must have the capacity to and willingness to learn
Must be familiar with Hot Strip Mill Operations
Must possess strong leadership and communication skills
Team orientated with the ability to work well with other people
Strong computer skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Must be willing to work turns
