Job Details:
The Cardiac Rehab Exercise Physiologist provides quality education and exercise activities for Phase II, III & IV Cardiac Rehab Patients. Duties include: assessing learning needs, barriers to learning, assessing patient''s medical condition and maintaining appropriate exercise limits, monitoring responses to exercise and communicating with physicians. Other duties involve calibration and maintenance of equipment, leading warm-up and cook-down exercises and adjustment in exercise prescriptions based on patient''s individual needs.
EDUCATION: Must have completed a degree in Exercise Science or in a Health Related Field.
EXPERIENCE; Experience in Cardiac Rehab and/or adult fitness preferred. Must have knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, thorough knowledge of cardiac patients responses to exercise, cardiac risk factor assessment and positive modifications, experience in assessment and education of adults and geriatric patients and a belief in and commitment to Cardiac Rehabilitation. Must be certified in Basic Life Support.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
