Analyze and evaluate the customer''s expectations for the Gaffney Bearing Plant. Define the expectations in terms related to Gaffney''s quality systems. Identify subject deficiencies/improvement opportunities and coordinate related corrective action activities.
Analyze and evalute the world class industy standards. Define the standards in terms related to Gaffney''s quality systems and identify improvement opportunities and coordinate related corrective actions.
Analyze and evaluate the Gaffney Baering plant quality control systems. Identify deficiencies and improvement opportunities and coordinate corrective actions.
Analyze and evalute the customer''s pre-production requirements. Define the subject requirements in terms related to new production. Coordinate the activities to ensure the subject pre-production requirements are statisfied.
Coordinate the preparation for and administration of customer''s quality system audits, assessments, and visits to the Gaffney Bearing Plant.
Analyze and evalute the information and trends related to the quality measures (scrap, rework, cost of nonconformance). Identify negative/non-improving trends and coordinate related corrective action activities.
Develop awareness and lead the change to implement Total Quality Management principles and tools as a standard operating style.
Develop and implement strategies to expand the knowledge and skills of the production supervisors in the basics/details of quality policies, procedures and systems.
Develop and implement the self audits of plant quality systems to identify deficiencies and provide corrective actions.
Provide assistance and support to other plant departments as a technical/expert resource in Total Quality Management concepts and stategic quality planning.
Design the use of Process Control Plans in order to standardize our process control methodology, replacing process sheets, process cards and incorporating into standard work.
Short term planning to adopt and modify strategies, activities and corrective actions as plant and corporate direction changes.
Long term planning includes development of plant continuous improvement goals for 1-3 Hoshin.
Identify the most cost effective approach to satisfy and exceed customer''s requirements of product quality or quality systems.
This position requires a broad knowledge of product applications, product design and manufacturing processes (5-10 years) with a 2-3 year concentration in the theories and practices of quality systems engineering. Additional minimum requirements are extensive knowledge of Total Quality Management concepts and their application, extensive knowledge of ISO, statistical principles, and gauging and inspection methods. 4 year bachelors degree in Business or Engineering.
