This is a Temporary Pathways Student Intern position in the Division of Information Technology located at the Northeast Regional Office in Hadley, Massachusetts. This appointment may be extended based on continued needs/funds for the position and the student''s continued eligibility for the Pathways program.
This is a part-time position (10-16 hours per week) during the school year (September-May) and may be full-time (40 hours per week) during school breaks and the summer months (May-August).
This position is open to eligible students who live or attend school in the local commuting area of Hadley, Massachusetts (50 mile radius).
Eligibility for the Pathways Program: This position is being filled under the Pathways Student Internship Program which is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with paid opportunities in agencies to explore Federal careers while still in school. You are eligible for the program if you are currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis in an accredited high school or college, (including 4-year colleges/universities, community college, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs, or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate program. As a student intern in the Information Technology office, your duties will include assisting with:
Installation and configuration of desktop & laptop operating systems and applications
Requests for support that come into a Help Desk from local and remote users
Employing basic troubleshooting skills for problem resolution for software and hardware
Documentation of problem resolutions, updates to field office database and other relative records pertaining to ITM operations

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
