Basic Purpose

We seek a highly skilled, strategic leader to assume the role as Chief Operating Officer for Navy Federal Financial Group and its subsidiaries (a FINRA Registered Broker/Dealer and SEC Registered Investment Advisor). As COO for NFFG and its subsidiaries, the COO will function as principal manager of these entities. These entities are a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) wholly owned by Navy Federal Credit Union. They are separate LLCs under Virginia law. They provide Investment, Financial Planning, Insurance, and Trust Services guidance and advice to Navy Federal members.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading an organization's strategic plans and vision to drive growth and profitability. Experience in overseeing internal and external financial audits and reports to regulatory agencies and federal, state agencies and regulatory authorities are a plus.
The COO, NFFG position's major responsibilities include:
oDevelop and execute strategy, vision and long range objectives for the CUSO (Credit Union Services Organization) and its subsidiaries appropriate for each business line and complementary to enterprise goals
oOversee, review and create performance reports to the Board, Navy Federal and related regulatory agencies
oDrive business results by building a culture of member service, promoting fiduciary standards and developing needs-based recommendations to assist clients to meet their financial goals.
oMonitor industry/economic trends, competition, practices, products, services and available technologies to ensure current/future demands
oApplies research results to generate new standards and strategies, and tactical implementation of customer experience/satisfaction practices to ensure maximum branding of products and services
oDirect and provide thought leadership of major projects and initiatives to include the creation of new subsidiaries, development of new product lines, and negotiation of contracts
oEstablish entity performance goals/objectives; monitor performance against established KPIs, implement corrective action to realign and/or prioritize process, procedures, and goals
oLead the development and execution of the Annual Financial Plan; approve budgets and commission plan design/actions

Qualifications:
Required:
oBachelor's degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
oExtensive experience that demonstrates ability to plan, lead, direct, organize and control a multi-function operation
oExperience with financial and member service operations to include understanding of effective customer service philosophy
oExtensive experience working with time constraints, meeting deadlines and achieving designated goals
oAdvanced management and leadership skills including the ability to provide constructive criticism, feedback and solutions
oKnowledge of the brokerage and investment industry standards and related federal, state regulations (e.g. FINRA, CUSO, Credit Union and SEC)
oKnowledge of financial services and the concepts of asset-liability management
oStrong administrative, organizational, and decision making skills
oStrong oral and written communication and presentation skills
oDemonstrated ability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence
oDemonstrated experience in using influence persuasion and negotiation to find agreeable exchange and reach positive outcomes
oExpert analytical/quantitative, reconciliation and deductive reasoning skills
oActive and valid FINRA Series 24, Principal is required; may be offered as a 90 day condition of employment.
Desired:
oMaster's Degree in Economics, Business Management, Finance, or related field
oFinancial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Registration: Series 24, Principal
oCLU, ChFC or CFP designation
oLife and/or Property and Casualty Insurance License

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
