The candidate will be an integral part of a small team of dedicated individuals responsible for the legal needs Companys Retirement Services division, a provider of defined contribution/401(k), defined benefit and nonqualified deferred compensation retirement products and services for corporate,union, nonprofit and governmental clients and participants.
Responsibilities:
Providing legal advice with respect to tax qualification and application of ERISA and federal securities laws and regulations to employee benefit plans; Analyzing the impact of complex legal and regulatory developments on the retirement plans of clients and communicating the impact to internal associates and clients; Providing practical and solution-oriented advice on the design, implementation and marketing of financial services products to employee benefit plans and plan fiduciaries; Counseling on the design and implementation of qualified plan recordkeeping processes and procedures, and applying the fiduciary responsibility and prohibited transaction provisions of ERISA to transactions involving clients plans.
The candidate should have J.D. from an accredited law school. Should be a member of the Bar in good standing (any state), and the ability to become licensed for in-house practice in Connecticut if not now licensed in Connecticut. Must have demonstrated academic achievement. Large law firm or Fortune 500 Corporate Law Department experience is preferred. Experience with Insurance Products and related Securities Laws would be a plus. Should have in-depth understanding and experience (5
years) working on a wide variety of Internal Revenue Code and ERISA issues involving Section 401(a) qualified retirement plans, Section 403(b) and Section 457 plans, and non-qualified retirement plans. Must have demonstrated knowledge of the retirement plan business (including the laws impacting retirement recordkeeping operations). Excellent organizational, interpersonal, research and verbal and written communication skills are required. Should have strong client relationship skills and the ability to consult with all levels of management.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
