Department Description:
Our medical nurses are dedicated professionals who see their patients as individuals with physical, spiritual, emotional, and social dimensions. This is a richly rewarding field for those who enjoy serving the needs of their patients both on a personal level, and as part of an integrated team of health care providers. Providence offers the opportunity to assist in planning treatment strategies, as well as in solving problems as they arise. The ultimate goal is to help that patient function as independently as possible upon returning home. A support system for our nursing staff is provided by residents in various specialties, including internal medicine, psychiatry, obstetrics, and radiology. A general orientation followed by an individualized unit orientation is provided. New graduates are welcome.

Summary:
Under general supervision and utilizing the nursing process, plans, implements, and evaluates professional nursing services to meet the needs of patients on a nursing unit or specialty area. Provides leadership to professional and auxiliary nursing personnel.
RN Requirements:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing.
Valid BLS/AED Certification.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Nurse Tech Requirements:
We will also consider graduates who have recently graduated from an accredited School of Nursing program. Those who are hired and do not have their RN license will be hired as a Nurse Tech and must have their board date scheduled within 4 months of graduation. Once the RN license is obtained, the new hire's job title will be switched to a Registered Nurse.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
6 months of nursing experience preferred.
