Job Description: This is a permanent, part time (.50) rotating vacancy. This position is anticipated for partial employer contribution towards insurance benefits.
This position namely exists to serve as the Central Communication Services at Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center. It provides central communication services, central reception and information services, and transcription/word processing. It also, assists with staff scheduling and clerical support for the nursing administration.
Principal responsibilities are as follows:
1) To provide central communication services using a console, radio base unit, and paging equipment; to provide central reception and information services to visitors, construction workers or volunteers, to transcribe and edit documents into proper form using a computer/work processor and appropriate software and techniques; and to perform clerical services assigned to the work area.
2) Provide prompt and courteous central communication services for the Center so that emergency and routine communication services are provided in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
3) Working with the nursing administration to maintain daily unit staff schedules. This entails accurately updating the daily schedule master copy; properly documenting staff sick leaves, shift changes, and overtime; and assisting in finding staff coverage for unplanned absences.
4) Transcribing and editing documents using a computer/word processor, applying proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
5) Additional administrative and clerical duties as assigned, such as photocopying, faxing, mail handling, and taking meeting minutes.
Minimum
Qualifications: 1) Data entry skils sufficient to create and edit documents.
2) Customer service skills sufficient to provide courteous, professional assistance in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
3) The ability to speak, read and write English; the ability to clearly announce information when responding to emergency calls.
4) The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
5) Leadwork skills sufficient to work with the nursing administration to maintain daily unit staff schedules
Requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. May involve sitting most of the time.
Preferred
Qualifications: 1) Experience working in a hospital environment.
2) Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
