The Distribution Center (DC) Traffic Manager is responsible for overseeing outbound traffic and the compliant and timely shipping/delivery of product in a multi-brand, multi-channel and multi-store distribution operation.
Job
Responsibilities:
Serves as the liaison between DC operations, internal and external customers and domestic and international shipping carriers to facilitate the meeting of shipping and delivery deadlines.
Responsible for training of staff to support all outbound shipping responsibilities.
Responsible for scheduling of required initial and recurrent haz mat certification training. Responsible for maintenance of training logs.
Responsible for scheduling all shipments with customers.
Manage day to day operations of inbound and outbound transportation while insuring maximum efficiencies in cost and service.
Responsible for scheduling/coordinating/managing all international shipments.
Establish and maintain relationships with local transportation carriers to insure DC service requirements and equipment needs are communicated and met.
Coordinates and manages priorities with Bare Escentuals and Shiseido Corporate.
Meet regularly with other DC and corporate management to identify department's ongoing role in the DC operation and communicate needs to department staff.
Build and manage department staff to insure resources are allocated and used efficiently.
Manage/coordinate communication with drivers coming into facility.
Manage Bills of Ladings (BOL) process and overall documentation related to shipments and insures all shipments are on time and ship plan is completed accordingly.
Insure proper labeling on all shipments to meet all DOT and haz mat requirements.
Job
Qualifications:
BA/BS or equivalent management work experience.
Minimum 5 years plus of direct high volume logistics or shipping experience.
Proven leadership and relationship record. Ability to communicate and execute objectives through a team environment. Ability to motivate and drives to results.
Ability to handle and perform multiple projects at one time.
Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to respond effectively to shipping statuses of orders. Ability to communicate ideas, directions and information to others via verbal or written means. Ability to prioritize your work and the work of others.
Must be able to meet deadlines while working in a fast paced environment.
Must be analytical and have a strong attention to details. Strong reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience with TMS and/or WMS systems
Efficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
