Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Luxury and Innovation Manager at our Superior Township, MI facility that will:
Work to grow our innovation and product planning expertise. Ideal candidates would have experience in both Luxury Vehicle Product Planning as well as all strong ties to the innovation process. As part of the Technology and Innovation team, you will also participate in various technology enhancement activities throughout the product development process at HATCI.
Manage all product planning functions as it relates to Luxury Vehicles, including: developing and presenting all vehicle concept proposal documents to senior management, designing and executing customer research intended to understand the unique customer needs based on customer and vehicle segmentation, performing market analysis, and providing ad hoc analyses of the overall luxury vehicle marketplace as well as specific luxury niche fields
Manage HATCI Innovation process, including: leading efforts to instill a company-wide innovative culture through collaboration activities, providing innovation training to entire company encompassing the innovation process from idea generation to final implementation, and track and report on HACTI-wide innovation process
Manage HATCI Patent Process, including: guiding engineers through patent process, communicating with Korean counterparts for approval of various patent documents, communicating with patent lawyers on appropriate patent submissions, enhancing the HATCI patent process through efficiency improvements, and tracking and reporting to senior management on ideas from initial engineer submission to final patent approval by the US Patent Office.
Manage HATCI Technology Group, with activities including: providing analysis of automotive and non-automotive technologies, attending and reporting on various technology tradeshows, being the HATCI window for new supplier technologies, managing and tracking R&D development projects, and developing technology roadmaps for future vehicle application.
Manage team budget process, including: developing full-year budget proposals, submitting and tracking all necessary budget documents (Budget Authorizations, RFQs, PRs, Amendments, Budget completion reports: ), Maintaining adherence to budget policies and expenditures within allowable budget limitations
Proficient skills in MS Office - Visio, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Create and present technical reports as assigned.
Perform additional projects as assigned.
Travel 20 - 40% of time domestically and internationally.
Required
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or similar field
10 years' experience in Product/Concept Development with Automotive OEM.
5 years' experience in Management
Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory Driving Record
