Hyundai Kia America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is looking for a Safety Crashworthiness engineer for our Superior township, MI facility whose responsibilities for the position include, but not limited to:
Conduct full vehicle system evaluations. Plan, set-up and prepare tests: conduct test data analysis, teardowns, inspection and reporting
Work closely with related teams to develop designs / design changes to meet Safety and Crashworthiness targets
Interface with plants on pre/post-production vehicle builds
Understanding of simulation data and make performance predictions and hand calculations as necessary
Work with NHTSA / IIHS on official tests
Document evaluation results and create technical reports
University interface in developing research projects in support of future designs
Develop component test methodologies and perform component testing
Experience using test data analysis tools is ideal (DIAdem, Hyperworks, Excel etc)
Administrative work: Handle budgets, ordering parts, manage project related inventory
Other activities as required
Travel up to 30% of the time domestically and internationally
Required
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
5 years of experience in automotive Safety and Crashworthiness
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
