To manage the design and development activities for a group. Responsibility includes systems and application analysis, programming, feasibility studies etc.
Position Overview :
Domiciled at our Brookfield, WI. facility, the selected individual for this position will lead an application development team responsible for operational systems that support package movement for FedEx SmartPost.
Position Information:
Lead a technical application development team to execute enterprise strategies and deliver effective software solutions
Ability to manage several complex projects concurrently or large projects with multiple cross functional work streams
An in-depth understanding of business and ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understood business terms
Experience developing and presenting business cases and technical solutions to executive management
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process improvements where appropriate
Ideal Skills/Knowledge Includes
Proven leadership and collaboration skills
Superior communications skills, both written and oral
Proven analytical skills on major corporate projects in large scales
Thorough understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle
Strong management, human relations and communication skills
Travel required
Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Bachelor''s degree/equivalent in computer science, math or directly related quantitative degree or related field
A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements
Five (5) years systems development experience which includes programming
Skill in one or more programming languages used at FedEx
If position is in mainframe environment, complex systems experience on ibm operating systems or microprocessors required
Experience in the technical design and development of major data processing projects
IMS experience
If position is in client/server environment, systems development experience to include distributed systems is required
Experience in client/server technology, object oriented (oo) development or case tools
Experience in the technical design and development of major client/server projects
Knowledge of software and engineering principles
Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills
Travel required
