This position is responsible for managing the entire Auto Center and Associates, including the Assistant Manager, in Auto Centers with sales volume of $500,000 or more. This includes, but is not limited to, selecting, scheduling, supervising, directing, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and training of subordinates; analyses and driving of sales volume, customer service, profitability and performance; identification and solution of business problems; creation and implementation of competitive strategies; managing productivity standards; and overall Auto Center management responsibilities. This position is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Auto Center and its staff and other projects as assigned. The Auto Center Manager is expected to spend well over 50% of his/her time on management duties on a daily and weekly basis.
In-Store Administration:
oHuman Resources - Hiring, coaching, training, managing and developing the Auto Center team.
oShipping and Receiving - Managing and supervising to ensure accurate accounting of merchandise coming into the center and transfers, returns or exchanges that impact inventory records.
oInventory Management - Manages On Hand counts where needed to ensure inventory accuracy.
oCash Management - Works with Loss Prevention to ensure End of Day cash and credit records are correct.
oAsset Protection - Trains and coaches to safety requirements, ensures initial reporting of all accidents and follow through on Associate's injuries.

oFacilities Management - Interior and Exterior.
oSystems and Process Management. Associate Development:
oTeaches, coaches and provides positive and constructive feedback.
oInteracts with the FLS Managers to integrate Automotive into FLS activities. Build relationships with Human Resources and Loss Prevention teams to help provide assistance in the daily Auto Center operations.
oDevelops a high performance team by hiring, coaching, developing and managing performance of Assistant Manager and Associates.
oPlans, directs and supervises the work and productivity levels of Associates to ensure standards are met or exceeded.
oConducts observation, training and coaching of Associates in selling and service process and skills.
oMakes appropriate decisions on subordinate performance, up to and including termination of employment following various appropriate disciplinary processes, and trains and supervises Assistant Manager in the store to appropriately address performance concerns.
oAssesses Assistant Manager and Associates' career potential through talent management processes; helps create opportunities for Assistants and Associates to enhance their existing skills to prepare for future roles; identifies, mentors and plans next steps for potential promotable management and staff.
oPlans and holds one-on-one meetings with subordinates to improve performance, set standards, and plan future development of Associates. Management Of Sales/Service/Profit:
oFocuses selling, service and support teams on consistent, timely and accurate customer care.
oAssesses service shortfalls and reacts quickly to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of time standards.
oFull profit and loss accountability and analysis of Auto Center.
oTrains Associates on proper exit procedure: explaining warranties, product information, scheduled services, and to always thank the customer for their business.
oUnderstands local market focus and tracks competition and trends in the market; communicates with District, Region and Home Office Support to address unique local market considerations. Knowledgeable of competitors' services and prices to build on sales opportunities.
oResponsible for determining appropriate outcomes to customer issues and concerns by making sound business decisions.
oEducates Associates on financial literacy and productivity measures; teaches Associates to understand how he/she contributes to the Auto Center's overall sales and service performance.
oConducts financial review, analyses, and long term planning and management of business and key drivers to impact sales and profit.
oSets plans and strategy to manage expense, understand and drive margin, maintain appropriate merchandise protection standards.
oMiscellaneous duties as assigned. Education/Training
oPreference given to candidates with a Bachelor's level degree or equivalent experience.
oHigh School degree/Technical School degree required.
oAutomotive Sales or Service education and training helpful but not necessary. Experience
oPrior management experience required. .Three to five years of experience with a retail store/field management preferred.
oMinimum two years in a similar work experience in an Auto Center preferred.
