This role will be heavily involved in the month end close process including making g/l entries and completing daily reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts. This individual's job functions will also include helping maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives.
Direct responsibility over the balance sheet accounts to ensure that all reconciling items are resolved timely and appropriate g/l entries are recorded in the correct periods
Calculating and posting of monthly accrual and deferrals
Assisting in the monthly preparation and analysis of financial statements
Assisting with the budget creation and preparing the monthly budget variance analysis
Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP
Assist in the creation of policies and procedures to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the financial statements.
Assist in the integration of multiple accounting systems to Oracle
Assist in the annual audit process
Work closely with the A/R & A/P departments to resolve reconciling items as well as to streamline processes
Work closely with the Controller & Assistant Controller on projects that arise
Strong knowledge of GAAP, experience working within an ERP system, strong knowledge of the full-cycle accounting process, knowledge of vendor tax compliance issues

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
