Position Description
Primary Purpose:
o To perform activities necessary as Cost Analyst/Project Control Specialist for a broad range of Pipeline Integrity projects. Support the Pipeline Integrity Manager, current Project Management Team (PM) and Field Engineer staff to ensure that the project's objectives are met by tracking costs, preparing cash flows, forecasting and reporting the project's deliverables and targets.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Determine cost trend variations, inform PM of potential problem areas, and recommend solutions to cost impact or delays.
o Demonstrate ability to analyze financial information and recognize significant variance, trends, and irregularities and understand the causes/drives.
o Report and analyze project progress using an earned value basis.
o Collect data, inputs, update and produce standard management reports, Actual vs. Budget and /or Forecast.
o Research unexpected items and resolve inaccuracies.
o Prepare proposal documents, including pricing, qualification information, technical and commercial clarifications, based on schedules and other supporting information as required by the PM.
o Prepare directives, change orders, purchase orders, staking/dig packages, track and process department invoices, resolve accounting issues and other information required by the PM.
o Proficient in Lawson and IsNetworld data base.
o Understand the overall basic terminology of a project's principle practices and concepts, project cost forecasting and budgets.
o Work with the PM staff to ensure that the timelines and/or objectives of the project are met.
o Communicate the status of developmental activities to PMs and business sponsors using written and verbal communications.
o Communicate with Management on goals and objectives.
o Ensure ongoing improvement through evaluation of current processes.
o Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
Level of position will be based on education and experience.
Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
o High School Diploma or equivalent required.
o Prefer a Bachelor''s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent accounting experience
Experience / Specific Knowledge:
o A minimum of 2-3 years in a business, accounting or related position.
Certification, Licenses, Registrations:
o A satisfactory driving record as determined by the Company and a current, valid State driver''s license are required.
o If the employee is subject to license or certification requirements or training as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies or the Company, now or in the future, compliance is required under this job description.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
o Must be able to understand the needs of the Project Manager and business unit(s) for which development work is being performed.
o Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
o Well-balanced interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communications skills are required.
o Must be accountable and take direction from Managers; keep required work schedules, which include regular and predictable job attendance; focus attention on details; follow work rules.
o Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.
o Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions.
o Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision and/or direction.
o Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
Physical Demands:
o Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by local, state or federal agencies and/or Company Policy.
Working Conditions:
o The work will be conducted from an office environment. Extended periods of sitting will be required for administrative activities. 60% of the time will be data input and computer work
o The position operates in a highly technical environment and frequently works under time constraints to meet deadlines and assure operational continuity
o Frequent contact is required with peers and management in engineering, operations, purchasing, and safety.
o Must possess general understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, practices and processes relate to the Pipeline Integrity Department, associated business units, and internal and external customers.
o Willingness to work overtime, as needed.
Preferred Education, Experience, Certifications, Competencies, Skills, and Abilities:
Above the minimum requirement; not required but advantageous in this position:
o Experience in Accounting.
o Project Cost Control experience.
o Experience with Lawson Financial Software.
o Some college courses in Accounting preferred.
o Knowledge of pipeline operations

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
