The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is seeking a self-motivated system support specialist to become part of a team in a fast-paced environment that will support 85-100 onsite and remote users in a mixed platform environment. Support functions include hardware (desktop, laptop, servers, and mobile technologies), software (Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems), and network.
This position will identify and resolve user desktop problems and concerns associated with software and hardware; plan and coordinate installation of desktops and peripheral equipment for users; perform scheduled systems maintenance; perform advanced troubleshooting of local and remote systems; and administer patches and software updates. This position will monitor and maintain various servers (backup, delivery, capture, and web) and maintain current hardware and software inventory.
The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to customer service, possess the ability to resolve complex issues, possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and have the ability to learn quickly. Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT or a related field and one year desktop/server support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to the duties of the position totaling totaling five years.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
