We're currently looking for a Field Biologist to conduct, the establishment, management, and evaluation of trials involving herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, nutrient, water conservation and plant health products.
In the role of the Field Biologist, your key responsibilities will be:
Conducting R&D; projects and generating data on which to base decisions for future development of compounds and crop production systems. These projects include research on approved projects, selection projects, potential projects, as well as sales demonstrations of, and research on registered products.
Conducting trial protocol development, trial setup - in field, applications, data entry, summarization and communication.
Conducting internal presentations to Biology group for data summery and to transfer information to Tech Service and Sales group as well as external presentations in professional meetings.
Managing R&D; trials and relationships with university and private cooperators in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, W. WY and MT including, introducing candidate compounds into university research and extension programs and recommendations.
Summarizing field trial results and making recommendations on marketability and/or further investigation of compounds.
Maintaining awareness of competitive commercial and experimental compounds communicating pertinent information to Biology, Tech Service and Sales colleagues.
Communicating with and actively supporting RTP based Biology project leaders as well as local Tech Service demonstration efforts.
Thinking innovative and entrepreneurially in finding new opportunities for our compounds and products.

## Description
Required:
Master's Degree of Science in an Agronomy field e.g. Weed Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, etc.
Minimum of 3 years of field research experience in field and specialty (vegetable, horticultural) crops and tree fruits.
Minimum of 3 years of small cereals- wheat crop experience.
Working knowledge of crop production and pest management practices of field, esp. wheat, and specialty crops, as described above.
Solid knowledge of pesticide chemistries and mode of actions
Solid experience in small plot research including plot design, layout, analysis, calibration, spraying, and data collection
Strong statistical and analytical skills important to interpret data and write reports. Ability to understand and summarize data in order to make decisions and advocate for compounds based on that data.
Practical experience with farm machinery.
Ability to calibrate sprayers and other research equipment.
Demonstrated excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency with ARM, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated excellent team work, leadership, self-motivation, and time management skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage people.
Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
A high degree of cooperation and interpersonal skills especially dealing with external contacts and cooperators.
Creativity and ingenuity in determining the performance and commercial viability of compounds from a technical viewpoint.
Consistent and dependent work ethics in handling routine tasks i.e. core competencies is required.
Working knowledge of Weed Science, Entomology, and Plant Pathology
Preferred:
PhD Degree of Science in an Agronomy field e.g. Weed Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, etc.
