Job Details:
Primary location is CASB. Must have own transportation. May be required to travel to Riverside 3 or Westlake location
Supports Carilion s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Responsible for correct registration, insurance and benefit verification, financial requirements and functions related to patient intake. Uses effective communication, courtesy and professionalism in all interactions. Makes appropriate decisions, reasoning, and problem solving to gather and verify essential information needed for patient care and reimbursement. Coordinates with physicians, payers and other entities to assure required authorizations are obtained. Will audit and correct data entry discrepancies and reports deficiencies to assure compliance to standard data entry , applies, and communicates Carilion policies regarding insurance aspects of patient care to assure optimal reimbursement for both the patient and Carilion.
This position is based in a call-center.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:High school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience:Registration and/or previous insurance experience preferred
OtherMinimum
Qualifications:
Knowledge of medical terminology, basic keyboard and PC. Knowledge of office procedures and equipment. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of insurance practices and requirements.Must be self-motivated.Must have knowledge of software applications. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding methodology preferred.Strong organizational and professional communication and customer service skills are essential.
