Averitt currently has an immediate opening for full-time Yard Switcher to help serve our dedicated automotive customer.
As a Yard Switcher, you'll play a critical role in our customer's transportation needs by ensuring the timely movement of trailers in and out of the docks on-site at the customer's location.
Job Responsibilities
Performing pre and post-shift equipment safety inspections
Hooking/unhooking trailers
Frequent bending for placement of wheel chocks
Lifting/opening trailer doors
Sliding trailer tandems when necessary
Safely entering/exiting yard tractor numerous times per shift
Safely maneuvering equipment with good backing skills
This rewarding career opportunity is for a Sunday through Thursday night shift starting between 8:00pm-9:00pm
Overtime applies after 40 hours per week
The usual work week is 40-45 hours

Benefits:
Start pay of $16.39/hour, up to $16.89/hour

Averitt Requirements:
6 months verifiable tractor/trailer experience and/or switching experience within past 3 years
Must have Class-A Commercial Drivers License (CDL-A)
Clean driving record
Must meet all qualifications outlined in our truck driver application
