As a lead member of the Student Systems Mainframe Development Team, the qualified candidate will serve as the technical lead and be responsible for providing a high performing/cost effective delivery model for full life cycle application management in a primarily IBM mainframe environment; will lead the IDMS mainframe development and support team in supporting MSU's mainframe based student systems and performing application management duties, while working with interfacing applications to resolve production issues; participate on committees and work closely with executive level management, cross departmental colleagues, and internal peers and team members to provide solution architecture and strategy in supporting and maintaining the systems and environment; assist clients to identify system requirements while leading large and complex application development projects; perform technical and analytical functions to diagnose issues, provide solutions, and implement corrective actions; use a prescribed methodology for coding application changes/enhancements, developing and executing test plans and technical reviews; lead and participate in application control and business continuity reviews and ensure updates are provided appropriately and timely; coordinate the daily and project activities of programmers and customers to manage tasks and resources.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience developing, designing, and programming IDMS mainframe applications; experience with systems analysis in an IBM mainframe environment using IDMS DB/DC, IDMS/ADSO, IDMS/ADSA, IDMS DC-COBOL, OLQ, IDD, COBOL, TSO/SPF, SORT, OS JCL, MVS, DYL260, VSAM; experience in troubleshooting and performance enhancements of online IDMS applications and Batch processing; experience in project management, application systems analysis and design, conversion and implementation of complex large scale mainframe systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Exposure to full life cycle of development from requirements through implementation and production support; experience in obtaining and understanding business requests, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical customers; experience in creating and executing detailed test plans; application support experience in a multi-programmer environment; Web application experience with object-oriented languages such as Java (JEE) or C++; Web application experience with technologies such as CSS, VBScript, JavaScript, AJAX, and ASP or ASP.Net; competency in enterprise-level relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle; strong ability to manage customer expectations and interact daily with business customers; experience with replication software replicating IDMS database to a relational database such as SQL Server or Oracle; exceptional analytical experience of complex application and data relationships; demonstrated commitment to quality and project timing; Demonstrated ability to document complex system; excellent communication (oral and written) skills, analytical, problem solving and planning skills; experience working in a team environment with the ability to work on cross functional teams; self-starter with proven innovation skills; Project Management (PMI certification); ITIL Certification; strong drive for results and ability to work independently when required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
