General Ledger Accountant

Company Name:
Career Transitions, LLC
Accountant - Contract
General Ledger, Payroll, Check History, Conversions.
The Contract Accountant position requires an accounting degree and at least 2 years of accounting experience and solid experience in Excel. Any experience with payroll is a plus.
The Contract Accountant will assist our company in one or both of the following areas:

Converting Check History ? For select clients we bring in check details (earnings, deductions, taxes and net pay) from the client?s prior HRIS system. We either import the data into our customer HRIS system or we place it into Excel spreadsheets. Typically the source data has to be mapped to codes that are used within our system. It is often not entirely clean data and effort is required to get it in balance. In some cases the source data is coming from multiple systems and/or belongs to multiple FEINs, increasing the complexity of the conversion effort.
Implementing General Ledger Interface ? Our system has a subsystem that is used to map payroll data to the client?s general ledger. That, coupled with a report generator, produces a file that the client can use to import payroll data into their general ledger so that they don?t have to do any manual entries. The Contract Accountant would assist with mapping the data, configuring the mapping in the system, defining any report requirements that are client specific and testing the interface with the client.

The Contract Accountant would be working on a team with an Implementation Consultant and a Project Manager for each client we serve and would typically be involved in multiple projects concurrently.
We anticipate this accounting project to be 3-6 months in length.
Strengths in the following areas are critical for consideration; General Ledger, Excel, data conversion, payroll.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
