Summary: To inspect materials and finished parts for compliance with engineering drawings and company specifications before assembly into a manufacturing process machine. Approve items within specifications for transport to assembly or storage area and recommend disposition of items not meeting standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
Perform more complex inspections under minimal supervision to determine conformance with specifications, utilizing standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges and test rigs in accordance with instructions and techniques.
Perform detailed first article inspections, if required.
Perform duties in support of the Calibration system.
Process associated documentation including process tags, rework tags and nonconforming material documents.
Provide written results of inspections performed.
Participate in Source inspections at suppliers' sites.
May perform internal Quality System audits.
Provides direction and instruction to Inspectors.
Demonstrates commitment to Stratasys Core Values by leading, acting and behaving in a manner consistent with these values.
Follows all company safety policies and procedures and attend all safety trainings related to the job.
Essential Education, Skills and
Experience:
Two year trade school or equivalent and minimum of 3 years inspection experience
Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) certificate (ASQ professional organization certification) preferred
Must be able to understand basic GT&D; symbols and their intent and then select the correct inspection technique and equipment
Must be familiar with the care and use of fundamental hand inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers and functional gauging, and manual and portable CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) usage.
Must be able to perform Gauge R&R; or Measurement Error Studies.
Must be familiar with fundamental CMM techniques and language (PCDMIS and other software).
Must be able to utilize the Inspection and MRB Event Solution, including SharePoint websites.
Must be able to perform basic functions in Excel application software
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally within Stratasys.
Ability to work well with others.
