My client, the healthcare performance division of a top ten CPA firm, is seeking to add a Senior Staff Charge Capture Consultant. This group is focused on helping healthcare providers strengthen and manage their revenue and understand the risks they must manage in a complex and fast-changing business and regulatory environment. They help clients obtain appropriate reimbursement from government, managed care, and other third-party payers. They also offer services to help providers strengthen their financial management policies and practices, understand their capital needs, and comply with regulatory and reporting requirements.
The healthcare performance division has talented and dedicated individuals, supported with proprietary tools and advanced technology, who assist senior executives in many areas. The team works with a broad spectrum of not-for-profit and for-profit health care clients, including hospitals, healthcare systems, academic medical centers, and health insurance companies. The services address 5 areas: finance, revenue cycle, reimbursement, operations, and managed care.

Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Charge Capture Consultant:

Performing many of the day-to-day work tasks on our charge capture projects and developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key client managers and directors.
Collaborate to plan objectives within a defined budget.
Understand and articulate trends in the industry.
Apply/communicate strategic objectives and organizational policies of the organization

Qualifications required of the Senior Staff Charge Capture Consultant:
A Bachelor's degree in Business or bachelors of science degree in a health related field is required (a MBA,CPA MHA and/or MPH is a plus).
Experience preferably with a Big 4 firm or a regional firm is highly preferred.
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant, in-depth health care charge capture experience is required. Clinical experience in Laboratory, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, PT, OT, Speech Therapy or Nursing is a plus but not a requirement.
Specific knowledge of the revenue cycle with an emphasis on charge master and charge capture processes is required, as well as an understanding of CPT, HCPCS Level II and UB-92 revenue coding. Certifications such as Certified Procedural Coder (CPC) or similar is a plus.
Task management skills and the ability to effectively manage budgets and supervise staff are required.
Strong financial, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills are required.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
